Twitter and Sweet Saturday Samples

There have been some questions about getting the word out on Twitter for Sweet Saturday Samples, and requests for an “official” tweet. Well, I don’t know much about this (and if anyone else does, they’re more than welcome to leave comments with advice). Here’s what I do know.

You can use the link for your own blog or this one (because each Sweet Saturday Sample post should include the link back). Twitter shortens the link to fit the post, so there’s no need to use a Tiny URL or similar link-shortening service.

Good hashtags include #booklook, #authors, #indies, #freeread, #newbooks, #blog, #books, and our very own #SweetSat.

If you’re using your own link and you write in a particular genre, there are hashtags for all of them, such as #romance, #paranormal, #mystery, #history, #fantasy, and so on.

A sample tweet might be:

“Sweet Saturday Samples #booklook without the sex (link)”

with more hashtags added at the end. Another could read:

“Looking for #newbooks? Try some Samples (link)”

and add more hashtags again.

Hope this helps. Cheers,

Gunnar

    Great hashtags!
If you have Tweetdeck you can schedule the updates so you’re not tied to the computer all day.

Is there a linky code somewhere? So I can post the link list on my blog? I can’t seem to find this week’s code.
