The Sweet List 09/10/2011

The pastries shown are a German treat called schneeballen (snowballs), and judging by the recipe, they’re basically a cross between pie dough and shortbread, deep fried, and then powdered with sugar or cinnamon, drizzled with chocolate, or slathered with caramel or amaretto. They sound like a fascinating change from doughnuts and I’ve found another anatomy-enlarging recipe to try. Thanks for the photo, Ji-Elle . . . I think.
